Running Bras

Studies have shown that a well-fitted sports bra with the right amount of support is good for breast health. Sports bras for running hold the ligaments and tissue that make up the breasts firmly in place while you’re in motion. This can help prevent damage to the tissue and reduce breast pain associated with exercise. The right bra may even improve performance — one study of running mechanics found that a poorly fitting bra reduced stride length.

When you go for a run, wear a correctly fitted bra with a medium to high support level, depending on your cup size and what feels best to you. Running and training bras are designed with moisture-absorbing materials to make your miles more comfortable. Bras for running may also have extra padding and adjustable straps for a supportive fit.

Wear a sports bra as often as you like as long as it’s fitted correctly. A too-tight bra can dig into your back. One that’s too loose will ride up and not stay in place. Workout bras come in different levels of support for different activities, so choose the best level for your workout: light for yoga and Pilates, medium for HIIT, and medium or high for running.
